Because of their expertise, the surgeons at Total Joint Specialists are often asked to fix failed hip replacements done by other surgeons. It is our opinion that you should not have a first-time hip replacement by any surgeon who does not have specific training and exclusive focus on hip replacement surgery.
Fortunately, revision, or “redo,” hip replacement surgery can often fix or improve failed or poorly done first-time hip replacements. Although revision surgeries are typically more difficult to recover from, many causes of failure or persistent pain after a first-time replacement can be improved by surgeons who dedicate their practice to hip replacements.
